Ok.. so I totally underestimated the reality of MOVING TO LONDON! :-)
.....I mean, to be fair, I did have somewhat of what i was getting into, however the closer the day got and the packing i was doing, i slowly started to think OH BOY! What was i thinking!! Then i realize... HELLO, IT'S LONDON! and i would calm myself down.
Anyway... the packing!! Lordy, can you believe that i actually thought i could move to another country with just a few bags! HA!! that was an unpleasant surprise. The good thing was that i have become an AMAZING packer since my trip almost two years ago, the bad thing was its the middle of January and all the clothes i have to pack are thick sweaters, coats and boots!
So, needless to say, my large suitcase was filled... i mean STUFFED with sweaters, pants, suits, and coats (casual and dressy), amongst a few other small items. My travel backpack that i traveled Europe with last year was filled with smaller and easier items to pack, like my toiletries, jeans, t-shirts, dresses, dress shirts, tanks, underwear, etc... thank goodness those roll up easy!
And the final bag was ALL SHOES / BOOTS!! so ladies, in the future when packing for a long trip / move, don't forget the annoyancey of SHOES!! Their shape, size, etc... UGH... but it all worked out!
Finally, i just had my two pack backs and my purse and my sleeping bag that i managed to clip onto another bag and hide my purse under my coat when boarding.. Luckily, AerLingus lets you check two bags when traveling, so i only had to pay for one additional checked bag... super nice!
So.. with that... dad took me to JFK and had a glass of wine with me for i took off... it was a great send off.
