BOO HOO - Lesson Learned..

Lesson One...
Keeping your camera in your pocket for 30 seconds is a bad idea... reason why... my camera was stolen today on the subway... so unfortunately, i will not be able to post my pictures from paris and versaille...and they were AMAZING... boo hoo... but friends that i traveled with here are going to send me copies of what we did... YAY!

UGH... so disapointing... anywho... off to get a new camera and to Bordeaux.

so, i guess that bird pooping on me wasn't so lucky... :-)

BONJOUR

Bonjour..

WOW is all I can say about Paris... Beautiful and so much fun.. The Effel Tower is massive and surprisingly the French do not hate all Americans... zero complaints from me! :) and the metro system here is super easy...

so... some highlights..

I did the Fat Tire Bike tour Thursday afternoon and Friday night, each tour was different parts of Paris and the night tour ended with a Boat cruise on the River Seine and a tons of wine!!... probably the best thing.... everyone was so chill on the tour and it was in English!! wahoo!

Museum de Orsey:
MY FAVORITE!!! Monet, Manet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso... absolutely amazing.. these paintings are unreal...

THE LOUVE:
Mona Lisa... not as big as i thought she was.. and unfortunately, rumor has it that she is in NY right now being cleaned, so who knows if i even saw the real one.. :(
The Louve itself and the pyramid that I.M. Pei built is so amazing..

ARC de TRIUMPH
Ok... the tour books lie on this one... the elevator up is only for the extremely old or handicapped.. we had to climb all the way up there... i really thought i was going to die... and this little old lady climbing in front of me...lordy i thought she was going to collapse.. it was touch and go for a little on that one... but i must say.. when you get to the top.. it is worth it... the view is pretty cool and the traffic below is entertaining in itself... infact.. Insurance companies DO NOT cover accidents that occur wile driving that circle... amazing...

Museum de Rudon
The Thinker and the Kiss... pretty cool

THE ICE KUBE
a bar we hung out in that is made out of ice... 10 below and they give you jackets, gloves and hats to wear inside where you sit on ice cube chairs and couches while drink vodka... i mean seriously AMAZING!!

Mouln Rouge, Van Goghs house, the view from the highest point in Paris; Napoleons Tomb, Peace Monument, i mean i can go on and on!!!

oh.... and BIRD POOPED ON ME in the Gardens!!! i guess i will have good luck on my journey?? :)

well... that is it for now... Pictures will be up soon... but the computers here are so old, they do not have USB ports...

love you!!

til next time...

Unreal... absoulutely Amazing!

Now i am here in London.. Oxford Circus...and it is great... with my new friends, Jamie, Carrie, Shaun & Matt... we had a few beers watched Manchester U kicks some Italian butt in the semi-cup playofs... and i enjoyed some fabulous Indian food!! yes my dear friends... Indian food... and it was crazy spicy... but pretty good!

And now i am off to Paris... wahooo!!

Rachel's European Extravaganza: The Memoir's of One Girl's European Adventure

Twenty nine years, one month and 39 days...

To do what? ~ you ask... To make one of my dreams come true... to REALLY see Europe!!!

I know it may seem like a long time to some people, but actually, it's not too long in the grand scheme of things and life...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

My whole life I have wanted to travel the world. Go to the museums and exhibits I only learned about in school... meet interesting people and soak in everything and anything European...

I regret not studying abroad in college or seeing the world shortly after... but never say never right!?!... Carpe Diem!!

So with no commitments holding me back, now is the perfect time in my life to do what I've always wanted to do. I don't own a home, have a child or even a pet, so, why not, right!?! So, with that in mind, I AM OFF!!

I am so excited for this adventure, as you all know and I am looking forward to sharing some amazing stories with you all when I return.

Please check this site from time to time as I will be updating it along the way!

Thank you for your love and support!!

See you in a few months!

Love Always,

Rachel
